Lies and the Lying Liars Who Support Them

Military records, other new evidence, and a swift boat skipper all continue to undermine the claims by the Swift Boat Veterans for Bush - erm, Truth. Meanwhile, a volunteer for John Kerry said Friday he picked up a flier in a Bush-Cheney campaign office in Gainesville promoting Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, despite the fact the Bush campaign has insisted for weeks it has no connection to it. Kerry is finally hitting back by filing a complaint with the FEC over the Bush connections.

We went to Iraq to stop Hussein from switching his oil trade over to the EURO from the Dollar.

That's the ONLY reason that we went, and that's why everyone including John "I'M GEORGE BUSH'S COUSIN AND AN BONESMAN JUST LIKE BUSH" Kerry who voted in favor of it still says that they would have voted for it despite what they know now, duh.

It was about money, and the U.S.'s economic issues.

Stop Iraq from switching to the Euro...

Well, that sounds pretty conspiratorial just like the "it was about oil" argument. Yes, Halliburton/Cheney benefited but that wasn't the reason. Neo-cons like Rumself, Wolfowitz, Pearle, and Cheney saw 9/11 as the perfect oppurtunity to ram home their ideas (such as invading Iraq to reshape the middle east) and Bush was the perfect president to do so.

And let me clarify about Kerry. Kerry voted for a war resolution that called for Bush to do a lot of things he did not do before going to war such as get a second vote from the UN. We can argue over whether or not it was strong enough as Dean did, but that's what it called for. Bush did not need a resolution to go to war, he could have on his own. Now under the War Powers Act Congress would then decide later on keeping troops there, but what the Congress did was go ahead and give him the authority beforehand because many felt the President needed that authority to make a case against Saddam, to get the inspectors in and go to the UN. That is what Kerry voted for and that's why he said he voted for it the day he did and continues to say the same thing. Do not listen to George Bush or other right-wing spin when it comes to Kerry's votes because it is definitely not going to be the whole truth (or any of it). Kerry has said he would still vote for the authority, because he believes that was the right thing to do, but he does not support the actions Bush took. When someone says this I always ask them this question:

Do you honestly believe Kerry would have done the same thing as Bush in regards to Iraq?
