Bush's Worst Issue

There are several major stories out about tons of missing explosives that the Bush admin failed to safeguard right after the invasion and the CIA taking detaines out of Iraq, but I figure most other blogs and even the major media are covering that pretty well. I try to cover things I think other people miss. Today, the LA Times has a story about the removal of environmental protections that has gone on during this administration. If there's anything Bush is worse on, it's actually the environment. Not only that, but it underlines that worst aspect of this administration, that they have turned so much over to lobbyists putting businesses in charge of policy.

"This settlement reeks of hostility to wilderness, to the whole idea of taking any steps to protect wild land in its natural condition," said John Leshy, the chief lawyer for the Interior Department under Clinton.

Martha Marks, president of REPAmerica, a Republican environmental organization, has also spoken out against the administration's wilderness policies, including the Utah settlement.

"If conservatives don't conserve, who will?"
