The Plame investigation appears to be about to produce some results, but not before Rove testifies one more time:
"In a surprise last-minute move, President George W. Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, plans to testify again before a grand jury investigating the leak of a CIA operative's identity, lawyers said on Thursday.Although officials declined to disclose the date when Rove would appear, the grand jury is expected to meet on Friday and again next week. Rove has appeared before the grand jury at least three previous times.
Fitzgerald has yet to indicate whether he intends to bring indictments in the case, but legal sources close to the investigation said Fitzgerald could signal his intentions within days."
What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall at those grand jury proceedings. I'm genuinely curious to know what Rove has to say that he hasn't already said at this point, unless he intends to "clarify" earlier statements he's made regarding the leak. Fitzgerald has yet to indicate whether he'll charge anyone with committing a crime:
"However, legal sources said Fitzgerald has made no guarantees to Rove that he would not become a target later. In response, Luskin said: 'Since Karl began cooperating with the investigation, he has never sought any promises or assurances as a precondition for his testimony.'"
Of course he hasn't. The only people who offer to do that are the ones who are guilty of something.
So it looks like before long we'll get this investigation out of the way, and the real fireworks will begin.

The question is whether these bozos can make the investigators believe they leaked Plame's name on accident. Evidently, all of them are saying they're not the one who leaked her name. Everybody heard it from someone else. Hey, guys, nobody's stupid enough to believe that one day you were standing around talking and the name "Plame" just sounded in the air.
