A Warrior Returns Home
Via the Daily Irrelevant, I discovered this deeply moving article on an Oglala Sioux and Marine killed in Iraq, and his final home-coming. See the pictures on the blog, and then read the entire article here. Read about how this soldier descended from a long line of warriors, some who died in battle for this country. Read about how Natives embrace the opportunity to serve this country in uniform. Read about how this soldier's tribe, largely opposed to the war, embraces their son as he returns home, and all of their sons and daughters who still serve. And read how no return home could be more fitting for a soldier and Sioux who gave all he had to his country.
