And still: Afghanistan

Afghanistan is experiencing its worst violence since the late-2001 ouster of the Taliban regime for hosting al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. More than 1,600 people, mostly militants, have died in the past four months, according to an Associated Press tally of violent incidents reported by U.S., NATO and Afghan officials.

Yet another place the US screwed up because of neocon policies. Wouldn't it be interesting if politicians were made to suffer as much as the people they hurt because of their mistakes?

The world would be a strange place, to be so just.

While we're at it, let's fantasize that every right-wing blogger who salivated over invading Iraq is now required to serve there, with no possibility of withdrawal.
