Pearl Harbor Remembered

I emailed some friends and family about this, but it's blog-worthy so it warrants a mention here.

Today is the 65th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. In commemoration of the event, the NY Times has released online some old unpublished excerpts from their Pearl Harbor columnist, about the effort to salvage ships that were damaged in the attack. It's really interesting, especially from a historical perspective, as the columns are the original typed documents in pdf format. Here's the NY Times link.

And here's the first column on how, incredibly, they righted the battleship Oklahoma, which had been flipped almost completely upside down by torpedos.
