Via Andrew Sullivan, this article in GQ details how the Bush administration has been not only willing to abuse the rule of law, but the soldiers and lawyers charged with carrying out the law. I highly recommend reading the article-about the experiences of two military lawyers given the task of representing Gitmo detainees-to fully appreciate the way in which this administration-and military commanders, not incidentally-have been willing to sacrifice our moral authority for a sham.
