The Odds of War with Iran

To me at least, it seems we keep pushing the clock forward, then back, then forward again on a strike against Iran. But lest you think war with Iran is outside the realm of possibility (as I once did) Eric Martin has some excellent words for you:

In other words, confidence in the belief that Bush will ultimately refrain from committing such an enormous blunder vis-a-vis Iran is predicated on his ability to make rational decisions, concede the limitations of his power and reject the advice of Dick Cheney et al. Those odds should make us all more than a little nervous.

It's difficult to read the situation described so bluntly and not say to yourself "we're doomed."
