The Real Plot Against America

I reviewed Philip Roth's book awhile back, but little did I know that-according to Scott Horton and this BBC Radio report-Roth's book was based in part on a very real plot that was put together in 1934 to overthrow FDR and replace the government with a fascist, anti-communist regime. The plot was apparently formulated by leaders in the business community who were opposed to the reforms FDR was implementing to deal with the ravages of the Great Depression. One of the names that's linked vaguely to the plot is that of Prescott Bush, our President's grandfather. Details are sketchy, but the story is nonetheless fascinating and deserving of more serious research.
