New Radiohead
If you're into this sort of thing (like I am) Radiohead's new album "In Rainbows" (just recently completed) will be released by the band online next week, and you can pay whatever you want to download it, or if you're a nut you can wait until December and pay about $80 for a Discbox that includes two CDs, vinyl and some art (or if you're really a nut you can do both.)

This is what more bands should have the courage to do. Look, the setup costs may be substantial in that the technology that allows you do this costs a bit of money, such as servers and high-level business class internet connections, but even so, given that the cost of producing a phsyical copy of each disc will be exactly zero, the profit margin on anything they make, 100% of which goes to the band, looks to be substantial.
Kick the RIAA in the ass, Radiohead!
