Boots up!

Things are looking good for Major League Soccer, which just today announced the expansion of the league to Seattle, which will field a team for the 2009 season. This is after announcing earlier this year that MLS would return to San Jose, whose team moved to Houston in 2005. So next year MLS will field 14 teams, and in 2009 they'll field 15. That's a far cry from the post-contraction days that saw the dissolution of both Florida franchises. Of course, that only means more teams for FC Dallas to lose to at some point in the playoffs...

By the way, the Houston Dynamo and New England Revs will battle for the MLS Championship for the second year in a row. Like me, you can cry a tear in your beer as you watch Texas' other soccer team play for the win.
