More Swift Boat Crap

Can someone please explain to me why these jack-asses won't go away?

Sen. John Kerry, whose 2004 presidential campaign was torpedoed by critics of his Vietnam War record, said Friday he has personally accepted a Texas oilman's offer to pay $1 million to anyone who can disprove even a single charge of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

In a letter to T. Boone Pickens, the Massachusetts Democrat wrote: "While I am prepared to show they lied on allegation after allegation, you have generously offered to pay one million dollars for just one thing that can be proven false. I am prepared to prove the lie beyond any reasonable doubt."

Kerry, a Navy veteran and former prosecutor, said he was willing to present his case directly to Pickens, who provided $3 million to bankroll the group during Kerry's race against President Bush.

Kerry said he would donate any proceeds to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

The senator said Pickens issued the challenge Nov. 6 in Washington, while serving as chairman of a 40th anniversary gala for American Spectator magazine.

"I trust that you are a man of your word, having made a very public challenge at a major Washington dinner, and look forward to taking you up on this challenge," Kerry wrote.

In the letter, Kerry offered to travel to Dallas to meet with Pickens in a public forum or to invite him to come to Massachusetts. He suggested the two could visit the Paralyzed Veterans of America in Norwood to see firsthand how Pickens' money could be used to help veterans. A copy of the letter was provided to The Associated Press.

"I am certainly open to your challenge," Pickens wrote Friday in a letter faxed to Kerry.

What Kerry ought to have done is offered to not-so-graciously punch this clown in the mouth. These jerks lied about Kerry, and they dug up more people to spread lies about Kerry because they disagreed with his stance on the Vietnam War. They have no shame, and they have no honor (whatever honor Kerry may attribute to this one) and they should be ridiculed into oblivion. And quite frankly, Kerry shouldn't be required to disprove their lies anymore than I should be required to prove I'm not an alien just because some jack-ass says I am.

It's the same maneuver, to put Kerry on the defensive. If you control the terms of the debate, you can decide who wins. Pickens is a jackass of nth degree though and should get smacked in the face.

Or better yet, Kerry could just file that 180 like he promised during the campaign. Or was somebody telling lies about him saying that?

Yes, and I could just hand over all of my financial records to show that I have in fact lived on Earth for the last three decades.

No. The burden is on the Swift Boat fabricators to prove their lies, which they have not. They're campaign was only ever about spreading lies and false accusations to muddy the waters, and on that score they succeeded. On proving that Kerry didn't do everything he said he did? Oh, not so much. But that was never the point.

If they are such obvious lies, why has no one collected $1mil from Pickens then? Hell, point me to the evidence I will damn sure try to get it.

Anonymous, someone told me that you hid in a stall in a woman's bathroom earlier and basked in the smell of their pungent activities. If you can give me definitive prove that this didn't happen, I'll give you a million dollars.

And thus by your own words you've proven that baseless attacks don't have to be disproven by the attacked, but rather proven by the attacker, something neither Pickens nor you can do. As always, conservative arguments fall apart in light of the truth and facts. It was nice of you to make your own argument collapse for us and spare us further trouble.

Of course you choose to leave out the fact that those "eyewitness" accounts were not only repudiated by other eyewitness accounts, but some of those eyewitnesses contradicted what they themselves had already recounted about the incident. You are choosing which account to believe, probably because of your political leanings. The very best you can do is accuse the other side of the same thing, which pretty much meets the criteria of hypocrisy.

Anonymous,

It's funny you should bring up turkey, when you're obviously too full of chickenshit to identify yourself in comments. Though since you're visiting from that disgusting blog Protein Wisdom, I should hardly be surprised that a coward should endorse such cowards as the Swift Boaters.

So anyway, one more abusive and ad hominem attack and I'll delete all your comments, and we'll have a good chuckle about it over the Thanksgiving turkey.

Thanks for playing "Moe" but by virtue of you being
a) a jerk, and
b) unpersuasive

...you lose.

I chuckle. I think you confused him, Xanthippas. He doesn't know what "ad hominem" means because even if he knew the literal meaning of the words, he obviously can't distinguish between those and substantive arguments.

A little searching will find a number of other sources to disprove these dogs - no, dogs are much better animals than these Swift Boat Vets for Lies...I doubt T. Bone-head Pickens will ever pay up...like all the chickenhawks they talk a tough came but never saw real action and are a bunch of cowards - all had better things to do while the rich sent the poor once again to fight a war...

Randy,

Thanks for the comment. For these pinheads like the commentator from Protein Wisdom who got his comments erased, they only need one lie to seize on and all evidence to the contrary is dismissed. The only treatment they deserve is mockery and derision.
