Protests Continue
Protests to Musharraf's seizure of emergency powers continue to mount in Pakistan. The former Chief Justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court is calling for resistence to Musharraf as lawyers continue to take to the streets in defiance. Former PM Benazir Bhutto is opposing Musharraf also, and threatening a massive demonstration in the streets of Rawalpindi on Friday. An already weakened Musharraf, attempting to subvert the democratic process and sustain his power, has in all probability only weakened himself further. How far he's willing to go to hang on is unknown at this point.
