It's Not That Unclear

I'm not sure what there is to spar about; it's clear Obama is saying that he still wouldn't have supported the surge because it is largely political and diplomatic pressure that has resulted in the diminishing violence in Iraq, and this could've been accomplished without an additional 30,000 troops. Anyone who thinks that 30,000 additional troops alone has made all the difference in Iraq is, quite frankly, a moron.

UPDATE: Kevin Drum has a handy timeline for those bozos who've somehow forgotten that the Anbar Awakening (largely a political effort) occurred first, and by quite a stretch.
