Back on Track

Thanks to a 29 point effort from Jason Terry and a career-high 22 points from Antoine Wright (seriously) the Mavericks rallied in the 4th to defeat the Indiana Pacers at home last night and even their record at 7-7. After that horrendous start they got off to, a five game winning streak and .500 looks practically like a ticket to the NBA Finals. The Mavericks appear to have exorcised whatever demon that resulted in consistent 4th quarter meltdowns, as they trailed for almost all of the fourth quarter last night except when it really counted. I'm still under no illusion that this team can hope for a serious post-season run, but who wouldn't rather watch them win than not? Still they go to LA to play the Lakers next, and a game on the road against LA is likely to be a stout cure for any unwarranted optimism.
