In local interest to Irving

A measure to allow beer and wine sales in Irving passed. I thought this was a funny quote:

"It's good to know the renaissance has finally made it to Irving, even though it's about 600 years late," said John B. Watson, a member of Irving Citizens Action Network, the group supporting alcohol sales.

I don't really know what that means, but it's funny.

Sheriff Lupe Valdez won re-election.

Here's a link to a list of election results from the Secretary of the State of Texas.

Kirk England won reelection pretty easily, but Linda Harper-Brown is in a very tight race with Bob Romano. At first count she leads by 25 votes out of 39,641. Now that is tight!

Chris Harris won reelection.

Oh well, Dems, we can't win 'em all. Well...not this year anyway!

Update: Well well, this is interesting:

Now if Linda Harper-Brown loses her Irving seat - and word on the street is that she thinks she will, after the provisionals are counted - that's an even 75-75.

I don't know where he gets his info, but if that's true, believe me, it's pretty major.
