29

Who knew a run-of-the-mill late December contest against a poor team would turn into an opportunity to mount the greatest comeback in team history, as the Dallas Mavericks rallied from 29 down in the 3rd to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-100. Oddly, I decided to tune into the game even though a short clip on ESPN had already made me aware that the Mavs were well into getting routed, and I'm happy I did so. The Mavs never should've been down a point shy of thirty against this team, but they more than made up for a mess of a first half by tightening their defense and going to the paint repeatedly and successfully to get back in the game. The Mavs have acquired quite a few reputations over the last few years ("soft" and "chokers" being two of them) but maybe this season they can grab a new one, for never quitting on a game.
