In case you missed it, Israeli ground forces moved into Gaza yesterday. There appears to be no sign of an imminent cease-fire (thanks in part to the Bush administration, who apparently couldn't resist shitting on the carpet one more time before leaving office) and no one seems to know exactly what Israel's goals are.
UPDATE: It is becoming increasingly apparent that Israel intends to unseat Hamas in Gaza. Consequently, a cease-fire is unlikely until they feel that goal has been met. Which is to say, not anytime soon.
