Anonymity

Professor Brian Leiter links to a story about the online law school forum Autoadmit, which he characterizes as "cesspool of infantile morons, anonymous sociopaths, and misogynistic and racist freaks" (it's all true, trust me.) It's a fascinating story in its own right, but it also serves as a useful reminder to us denizens of the internet that generally, what you say is recorded for eternity (or long enough to count at least), can actually do real harm to others, and can come back to haunt you if someone is determined enough to track you down. So just as a reminder, be prudent out there, okay?
