Senate passes stimulus bill

The Senate (finally) passed their $838 billion economic stimulus package today on a 61-37 vote. Differences now need to be worked out with the $819 billion dollar House bill which has less tax cuts and more aid to states in areas such as education. Democratic congressional leaders have a self-imposed deadline of getting it to President Obama's desk by February 16th.
