Senate Democrats say they have enough votes to pass a $780 billion compromise plan on an economic stimulus package President Obama has promised voters.
Sen. Max Baucus, the Montana Democrat who heads the Senate Finance Committee, said the $780 billion package has the support of all 58 Democrats and at least three or four Republicans.
"We're going to do it, if not tonight, in the next day or so," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told colleagues on the Senate floor.
That report earlier today probably helped.
