Three Days

The trade deadline for the NBA is this Thursday, the 19th. What have the Mavs got cooking? Shaq for Stackhouse and Dampier? So say the radio guys. Mike Fisher says this is what's going on:

The Mavs of today believe they can be the Lakers of a year ago. It is neither the Mavs intention to “blow it up’’ or to “stand pat.’’ The Mavs are out of “We Love Our Team’’ mode and in “Go-For-It’’ mode, and are in search of league-shaking deal that allows them to take advantage of a down-on-its-luck franchise, a deal that vaults them into true contention.

Fisher says of that paragraph "cut it out and put it on the fridge" but this blog is the equivalent. Either way the word is the Mavs are hunting high and low for a player/players that can put them back in the hunt and not sacrifice their ability to land a major player in the 2010 free agent race. I imagine that Donn Nelson and Mark Cuban aren't getting that much sleep these days.
