Why are the Blue Dog Democrats and Moderate Republicans who now constitute the "Gang of Six" busy holding up comprehensive health care reform? Paul Krugman is really trying to give them some credit for their alleged adherence to fiscal conservatism, though he points out that their plan would only drive up the cost of health care reform. Frank Pasquale grants them no such leniency however, pointing out that four of the Senators represent states whose respective health care industries are opposed to reform and who are busy making donations to those Senators as I type this. So please note: your chance at real, affordable health care, is beholden to the political aspirations of wealthy Senators whose families will never want for adequate medical care for the rest of their lives.
