Zig Zag Zell Part II

Whoa, that was some amazing television last night. Right after the "new lighter and more likeable" Cheney's speech, Zell Miller appeared with Wolf-Woodruff-Greenfield on CNN to talk about his froathing at the mouth nutso speech. This time, unlike the previous nights, they had their Democratic talking points ready. They challenged him on the defense systems, saying that Dick Cheney as Sec. of Defense wanted to cut the same systems, and they challenged him on Zell's previous praise of Kerry. Zell was left floundering and spitting and shaking a piece of paper in their face. I have to admit I was surprised CNN did this, but I think they figured he was so over-the-top he deserved it.

Then Zell went on Hardball. Matthews took him to task on many issues, especially Kerry's votes on defense appropriations bills, the "spitball" comment, and even the Homeland Security/union-busting fiasco that cost Max Cleland his senate seat. At one point, Matthews was making an analogy about entitlements and Zell Miller thought he was being insulted, so he challenged him to a straight up duel.

Man, what an asshole.
