On What Grounds We Should Confirm Judges?
The Nation has a pretty good article that lays out a method of questioning that avoids a litmus test and really gives a good reason for Senators to vote for or against a nominee. As a liberal, of course I want a judge who supports my views, but we should all agree that should come more from their good, analytical interpretation of the Constitution and other factors that might apply and not from their own personal beliefs. As Kerry said during the election, the best judges are the ones where you can read their decisions and can't tell if it was a liberal or conservative judge or not, just whether or not it was a good decision.
