But Of Course Not!

A spokesman for DeLay says that political contributions from foreigners has no effect on DeLay's activities on the Hill, and we're silly to even think such a thing:
"Mr. DeLay makes decisions and sets legislative priorities based on good policy and what is best for his constituents and the country. Any suggestion of outside influence is manipulative and absurd," Madden said. "Mr. DeLay has very firm beliefs and he fights very hard for them."

One of those beliefs being if you give him enough money, he'll bark like a dog for you even if you are a Russian energy firm.

So the fact that people give him money to vote a certain way and then he votes that way every time is unrelated? Somehow I don't think too many people are going to buy that explanation.
