McKinney loses in the primary

I know this is old, but I've been preoccupied with several things, notably the Asian Film Festival of Dallas (Affd.org), for one thing, a most excellent festival. But anyway, this is not really a substantive post. You have to give her kudos for having the guts to say a lot of crazy things in public...but she says and does a lot of crazy things in public, for example, when she "praised leftist leaders in Cuba and Venezuela", and her famous tangle with a security guard: "a physical confrontation with a U.S. Capitol Police officer, who challenged her after failing to recognize the six-term lawmaker at a security checkpoint."

She may have been a good leader and a strong Democrat, but really, you can only go so far. You have to maintain your dignity. Try to remember how MLK Jr. did things and aspire to that. Goodbye, representative Mckinney.

When you think about it, can you give her that much kudos? There are plenty of people willing to say perfectly crazy things in public. They're not usually elected officials, but whatever.

Well, I guess that's true. We have plenty of people who do crazy stuff in public places. It's just that she also really did fight for her people. I just think that I wouldn't want an insane person defending me.
