As you may have heard, Stephen Colbert of "The Colbert Report" is running a "favorite son" campaign in South Carolina for 2008. While he had planned to run in both parties' primaries, the Republican one turned out to be too expensive. Early polls show Colbert could potentially get more votes than some of the lesser-known Dems. In fact, I see the potential impact on the race being that he could take away votes from young voters who might otherwise vote for Barack Obama or John Edwards. Could Colbert, a self-avowed right-wing Republican, be a spoiler that helps Clinton?
UPDATE: Well, never mind!
