After a rare close door session, House Dems grew a refreshing backbone and passed a FISA update bill that does not include telecom immunity. Of course, the White House has threatened a veto and it's not clear the Senate will pass the same bill (they earlier passed one with immunity).
Both the House and the Senate passed a budget blueprint that increases domestic spending and eliminates the Bush tax cuts for higher-income earners. President Bush opposes this, and both chambers still must work out differences.
