Quick Update on Tibet
Despite China's apparently successful efforts to lockdown Lhasa, two days after rioting began after confrontations between Buddhist monks and police, violent protests have spread not only to other Tibetan cities, but to provinces neighboring Tibet that house large Tibetan populations. The Dalai Lama has indicated that he will not order Tibetans to cease their protests. So far, the International Olympic Committee is resisting calls to boycott China.
