Senate Races Update

Norm Coleman's lead over Al Franken has dwindled to 215 votes out of 2.9 million cast. The Minnesota state Canvassing Board has confirmed the results, and the recount will officially begin tomorrow. The recount is expected to take several weeks.

In Alaska, Begich is now up by 2,374 votes. The Alaska Elections Division anticipates that the remaining absentee ballots will be completed today, though there may be some remaining overeseas ballots that are unlikely to change the outcome of the race. A recount is likely, though it is not anticipated that this will change the final result. So for our purposes, the remaining races to follow are the Coleman-Franken recount, and the Chambliss-Martin runoff in Georgia.
